Battle of the Bubbles Week 7

This week’s selection is Sephora The Bubble Mask. I picked this out online specifically from Sephora when doing research for this challenge. have no previous experience with this mask. You can purchase this at  Sephora for $6. This mask is a little bit higher on the price scale than some other masks but the reviews were good. But, how does it compare to GlamGlow Bubble Sheet? Check out this post to find out which mask wins this weeks battle and don’t forget to follow the steps at the end of this post for a chance to win an at-home spa gift box.

Sephora The Bubble Mask

The Basics:

  • Ease of use: Easy
  • Price: Medium-high
  • Packaging: Appealing
  • Smell: High but Good
  • Reactions: None

The Breakdown:

This mask was very easy to use. Apply to clean, dry face and leave on 15 minutes. Upon opening the package, I was assaulted by a wonderfully clean smell. Normally this high volume of odor would bother me but this smelled so sweet and pleasant, I loved it immediately. I applied the mask, set my timer, and laid back to let the magic happen. I began to feel my beloved bubble tingle within 20 seconds and this mild-to-moderate bubble tingle came and went the entire 15 minutes. There were a few times it was so pronounced I had the urge to itch but I resisted. At the end of the 15 minutes, I went to observe the bubble effects and the mask was COVERED in bubbles! There were so many that I couldn’t even see the mask underneath. I really liked that. I removed the mask and rinsed my face and went about my evening. My face felt super clean and refreshed the rest of the night. No stickiness or greasiness. I had no adverse side-effects. My face didn’t look any different but if definitely felt recharged. The next morning, and all through the week, still no acne or rashes. However, when I usually use the bubble masks, my face feels revitalized for a good 24 hours. With this one, the next day was just like any other day. Still, the positives outweighed that one issue.

Sephora wins this round. The pleasant and refreshing smell, ease of use, attractive packaging, huge bubble-tingle factor, obvious bubble remaining on the mask, and no adverse reactions were huge bonus points. I would have preferred that my face had that rosy glow and the invigorating just-cleaned feeling I experience with GlamGlow but I can’t argue the results in cleaning and detoxifying my face were stellar. Honestly, what pushed this mask past GlamGlow was a simple thing….price. The effectiveness of the mask was on par but this mask is about $3 cheaper, and money in the pocketbook means more money for beauty products. Sorry, Glamglow. Sephora has earned a spot with you in my must have masks for Self-Care Sundays. Don’t worry! There’s plenty of room for all my winners.

Battle of the Bubbles Week Week 6

This week’s selection is  Holler And Glow Stone Coal Sober Foaming Charcoal Mask. I picked this up at Target when scouting for more masks for this challenge. I have no previous experiences with this brand. I, also, did not select this mask for the challenge this week. My husband asked to pick and he selected this one because he liked the name. You can purchase this at Target for $2.99. This mask is easy on the pocketbook but how well does it work? Check out this post to find out which mask wins this weeks battle and don’t forget to follow the steps at the end of this post for a chance to win an at-home facial gift box.

Holler and Glow Stone Coal Sober
Foaming Charcoal Mask

The Basics:

  • Ease of use: Easy
  • Price: Low
  • Packaging: Appealing
  • Smell: Low
  • Reactions: Mild

The Breakdown:

This mask was very easy to use. Massage package to activate contents and apply to clean face. Easy peasy. Upon opening the package I noticed a mild but pleasant odor, so that was a plus for me. The directions state it can be used for anywhere from 15-20 minutes but I like to go no longer than 15. I applied the mask and sat back. I felt a very mild bubble tingle about 90 seconds in and over the course of the 15 minutes this tingle came and went but in a very mild way. Honestly, my face felt more “minty” than “tingly” during the entire mask time. It wasn’t a bad feeling, just different. Like a cold breeze was continually blowing over my wet face. I can’t say I hated it….it was actually a pleasant feeling. But I really missed my bubble tingle. At the conclusion of the mask, I observed the mask and there were visible bubbles but they were subtle and didn’t cover the entire mask. I removed the mask and wiped the excess residue with a tissue, per the directions. My face felt really clean and refreshed….for about 15 minutes. Then it began to feel sticky…and refreshed. It was an odd combination. My skin felt good until I moved my face muscles then it felt like I had a tightening mask in place. I didn’t like that. As the remainder of the day progressed, the tight feeling went away just leaving my face feeling clean but not spectacular. On the plus side, there were no rashes, bumps, or acne breakouts from the mask.

GlamGlow wins this round. Holler and Glow wins points for smell, price, packaging, clean feeling, no reactions (other than the sticky feeling) and wintering effect that I enjoyed during the mask time. I was not a fan of the sticky feeling after the mask was removed and the fact that I can only find this mask at one place. I would rate this mask 4 stars though and would use it again, especially in a pinch. While doing my research, I found other products by this brand that I am looking forward to trying as well. Don’t discount this mask. I recommend anyone who likes sheet masks give it a try!

Battle of the Bubbles Week 5

This week I selected  Yes to Tomatoes Anti-Pollution Detoxifying Charcoal Bubbling Paper Mask. I picked this up at Ulta during a sale because the red and gray colors caught my eye….repeatedly. I have no previous experiences with this brand. You can purchase this at Ulta for $2.59, Walgreens Box of 10 for $16.99, Walmart for $2.38, CVS for $4.39, Amazon for $4.99, and Riteaid for $3.99. There are probably 15 other stores this is carried in so the ease in finding this outstanding. This mask is very pocket book friendly and I really like that I can locate it practically anywhere I go. But how well does it work? Check out this post to find out which mask wins this weeks battle and don’t forget to follow the steps at the end of this post for a chance to win an at-home facial gift box.

Yes to Tomatoes Anti-Pollution Detoxifying Charcoal Bubbling Paper Mask

The Basics:

  • Ease of use: Easy
  • Price: Low
  • Packaging: Eye-Catching
  • Smell: Low
  • Reactions: None

The Breakdown:

I will be honest, I’m a skincare snob and the older I get, the worse I get. I’m not expecting much from this mask because the price is so low and it’s everywhere. It can’t possibly be better than GlamGlow, right? It’s pretty simple to use. Open packet, put on clean, dry face for 15 minutes, then remove and rinse. No muss, no fuss. Upon opening the package I received my first surprise. This mask smelled amazing! Natural, clean, and mild and I found this subtle scent appealing. I placed the mask on and laid back to let the magic happen. Within 20 seconds the “bubble-tingle” took place. From then on out….pure tingle. I could feel the magic happening on my face. It was AMAZING! After my 15 minutes of bubbling goodness, I got up to see the results and the entire mask was covered in white bubbles. There was hardly any black mask visible anywhere. I loved that. I removed and rinsed and did my pat dry and went about my business. After experiencing my last bubble mask and the reaction I had, I was very nervous about this but I should not have been. My face felt clean, refreshed, and smooth the rest of the evening. The next morning…no rash, breakouts, greasiness, oiliness….nothing! Just clean and soft skin that practically glowed. Now, this was also a sensitive time of the month so I was anticipating a breakout or two over the course of the week. Nope. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Are you kidding me? Not only did I have no reactions, I also had no monthly breakout. Even with my most diligent skincare routine, I’ve never been able to avoid at least one or two blemishes when my hormones go berserk. This time, nothing THE ENTIRE WEEK. This mask was unreal!

Yes to Tomatoes wins this round! The packaging was eye-catching, it is very affordably priced, it’s easy to locate practically anywhere I go, it was easy to use, there was a mild and appealing smell, the super bubble-tingle, the visible bubbles on the mask, the clean and refreshed skin, no skin rashes or breakouts, and it seems to control my acne at a time of the month that should have been unheard of pushed this mask to the top of the list of products I will purchase for regular use. GlamGlow will remain a staple but Yes To has an awesome mask that I recommend anyone with a regular beauty regimen tries. I will be running by to Ulta to grab as many products by this brand that I can to see what other magic they can create in my skincare routine (I’ll be sure to tell you all about them too)!

Re-Charge Weekend

Sorry for the delay in posting. My husband and I took a quick getaway to recharge after the end of high school football season and before the holiday season shenanigans commence. Checkout some of my gorgeous pictures from Nassau, Bahamas. It was a great weekend, if you don’t count the fact that I spent one entire day with seasickness. That part….it wasn’t so great. But, now we are fully ready for the holiday season.

Battle of the Bubbles Week 4

This week I selected Beyond Belief Bubble Mask. I picked this up at Sally Beauty Supply one Saturday when I was just browsing. I have no previous experiences with this brand. You can purchase this at Sally Beauty for $2.99. This mask is very pocket book friendly but how well does it work? Check out this post to find out which mask wins this weeks battle and don’t forget to follow the steps at the end of this post for a chance to win an at-home facial gift box.

Beyond Belief Bubble Mask

The Basics:

  • Ease of use: Easy
  • Price: Low
  • Packaging: Basic
  • Smell: Medium
  • Reactions: Numerous

The Breakdown:

I was killing time one morning and decided to pop into my local Sally Beauty and see what type of beauty supplies they had that were new to me. I found the Beyond Belief Bubble Mask and thought it would be a good addition to the bubble challenge. I had quite a difficult time finding information online and on social media for this brand, but that’s ok. It was pretty straight forward to use this product….apply to clean, dry face for 15 minutes then remove and rinse. Upon opening the package, my nose was assaulted by the smell….very medicinal. I didn’t like it at all. Thankfully, the smell became less obnoxious once it was on my face, although it did not dissipate completely . I applied and sat back and let it work it’s magic. Sixty seconds in, I felt the bubbly tingle. For the entire 15 minutes the bubble tingle came and went, varying in intensity every few minutes. I loved all the tingling this mask provided! Once removed, I rinsed by face and did a dry pat. I then went about my business, noting the way my face felt. For the first hour, my face felt nice and clean. It was great. But after that, things took a turn. My face became greasy. Not moisturized, not slightly shiny….greasy. It was not pleasant. For the rest of the evening, my face didn’t feel so hot. I went to bed fighting the urge to wash my face to get rid of the feeling. I wish I had followed the impulse. I woke up the next morning with bumps all along my chin area and my jaw line. I did research online and called my dermatologist and it appeared I was having some type of reaction. Normally I would do a second attempt since I got an unfavorable result but this wasn’t acne, it was a physical reaction to this mask. It took about 4 days for the bumps to disappear from my chin and jaw line.

GlamGlow does win this round. I don’t think it’s Beyond Belief’s Bubble Mask fault I have sensitive skin that reacted poorly to this mask. That being said, the greasy feeling of my face, the medicinal smell, and the lack of my face feeling clean and refreshed after the first hour took off significant points.

Author Spotlight – Meghan March

Happy Halloween! My children are past the age of trick-or-treating so today is (almost) just another day for me. I decided to celebrate anyways by stopping by my local cup cake shop and treating myself (I will, of course, be filled with self-recrimination afterwards but I’ll put in extra time at the gym tomorrow). What other gluttonous things did I do today other than eat a fantastic Wedding Cake Cupcake? I re-read Meghan March’s Dirty Mafia Duet.

OK….truthfully, I was just going to re-read book two. I’ve got housework to do. Then I started reading (and eating) and decided, “what the hell”, and went back to book one. Hence, my backwards cupcake imagery. How could I not? This is Cannon’s story, and it was long overdue. I ADORE Cannon! And it was so good the first time, I knew it would be just as good the second time.

Now, I read lots of great books by amazing authors but Meghan March is a unique author for me to read for one reason…..out of hundreds of authors I read, she is the ONLY author I read who writes books with cliffhangers. Why is that significant? I hate cliffhangers! I get extremely pissed when authors do this. I can’t tell you how many authors I no longer read because they jumped on the bandwagon and started writing cliffhangers or serials. Megan March is a whole different breed of author that, for some reason, I just can’t get enough of, and she is the ONLY author I make this exception for. And, I found her by accident! No joke, I bought a book by mistake and decided, since I had it, I might as well read it. I also plan my day-to-day schedule around her releases. Seriously, there are maybe 10 authors I will plan my life around when their latest book comes out and she is the only one who I know will not be giving me what I want, immediately and it doesn’t stop me from diving right in, as soon as it hits my Kindle. I KNOW I’ve got to wait 4-6 weeks for the next book. The problem is, she has such an addictive writing style, I can’t stop. Want to know how bad it can get? I had a football game AND a Megan March book to read. I took my phone to read and had my husband interrupt me every time my son took the field (yes, I’m going to hell for that one). She tells such powerful, emotional, angsty, HOT stories, I can’t say no, no matter how long I have to wait for my fix. And her plot twists…..OMG! I have thrown my Kindle, pulled all-nighters, and swore I’d never read her again just because of some of her plot twists. Her books are freaking roller coasters! They make you laugh and cry and want to scream and rage and, at the end, when you think it’s almost over, she throws you down one more steep dive and upside-down loopty-loop before you glide into the unloading dock….complete with wet panties, a racing heart, and the urge to do it all over again!!! And, I re-read them….frequently. Her Mount Trilogy, Forge Trilogy, Dirty Mafia Duet, Savage Trilogy, and Beneath Series are some of my all-time favorite books EVER!!! In 2 weeks, her Legend Trilogy begins and I’m already dying. No kidding. I’m going crazy.

I don’t know Ms. March. I’ve never met her, conversed with her, or even passed by her in any setting. But, I must tell you, she is one of the best authors I have ever read. Her passionate and emotional storytelling weaves a web around your soul and leaves you breathless and aching for more, each and every time. I don’t know what magical spells she is casting over her books, but she has me addicted to her words and that is something I really don’t mind! If you haven’t read any books by Ms. March, I’d start with her Beneath Series. I promise, you will not regret it!

And, what did I rate her Dirty Mafia Duet….the love story between Cannon and Drew? 5 stars, of course! Cannon is insanely sexy and what makes him even better is his strength and integrity (OK, his dirty mouth is delicious too). I’ve been fascinated with Cannon since he first appeared in the Dirty Billionaire Trilogy and Ms. March did not disappoint me! Drew is his perfect match…strong, brave, and passionate! She gives as good as she gets and together these two were dynamite! I had a few moments where I wanted to crawl in the book and beat the crap out of one of his siblings (Creighton Karas, you are a stubborn jackass) but this duet was sheer perfection! And the plot twist!?!?!? I did NOT see that coming. Meghan March, you have the most spectacularly vivid imagination, I can’t even wrap my head around some of the things you pull out of yours! I do know this much….please don’t ever stop!

Thank you Smallcakes of Ft. Myers for my AMAZING Wedding Cake cupcake. You created the perfect cupcake to go with a perfect book duet! Yes, I paid for it, but it was worth a shout out (and now I know where to go on my cheat days).

Battle of the Bubbles Week 3

This week I selected Earth Therapeutics Deep Clarifying O2 Bubble Mask. I picked this up during a Kohl’s excursion and thought it would be a good addition to the contest because I really like Earth Therapeutics products and they are a staple in my pedicure. You can purchase this at Kohls $9 for a 3 pack or Earth Therapeutics $11.99 for a 3 pack . This mask is both cost effective and created by a company that pampers my feet like no one else, but how does their face mask measure up? Check out this post to find out which mask wins this weeks battle and don’t forget to follow the steps at the end of this post for a chance to win an at-home facial gift box, which was a bag but it got too full!

Earth Therapeutics Deep Purifying Charcoal
O2 Bubble Mask

The Basics:

  • Ease of use: Easy
  • Price: Low to medium
  • Packaging: Appealing
  • Smell: High
  • Reactions: Mild

The Breakdown:

Awhile back Kohl’s had a beauty sale that was the BOMB. I went there to stock up on my Earth Therapeutics pedicure supplies (with the sale and my 30% credit card discount I scored items for 50% off!!!) and came across a section of face masks by them. I figured they were a worthy inclusion because their pedicure products have my feet feeling like a million bucks during and after Self-care Sundays. This was also my first foray into the K-Beauty trend, which I’m still learning all about (that’s a whole different blog post). Those Korean girls have luminous skin so they have to know what they are doing. This mask was easy…rub package to mix contents, open, and apply to clean and dry face. Upon opening the package, I first noticed the smell. It was purely clinical….and strong. I cringed because I need my mask to smell good, or at the very least, have no smell or a mild smell is even acceptable. This one, not so much. I sallied forth and applied the mask, as directed, for 15 minutes. About 3 minutes in, I felt the bubble tingle to my face, on my cheek area only. A minute later, I felt it on my chin and slightly (for a minute or two) on my forehead. And it was extremely mild. No bubble factory going on at all. And the smell was bothering me even more. I still kept at it but the bubble tingle faded to just an itchy feeling. I kept having to sit on my hands to prevent the itching areas on my face. On top of that, no matter how well it was placed, the mask just didn’t fit my eyes or lips correctly. To get it right on my eyes, it covered my lower lip. To get off my lip, it covered the tops of my eyelids. I stayed still and finished and when my timer when off, I had to jump up and see if there were any bubble visible. Yep…bubbles on the apple of my cheek and my chin. HUGE bubbles. I looked like a Santa who decided to shave my beard creatively. And, while the bubbles were huge in these places, the rest of the mask was pitch black. And, with bubbles that huge, why didn’t I feel a better bubble tingle? Anywho, I cleaned off my face per the directions and went about my self care just waiting to feel luminous, clean, and energized….like I always do. However, this week, not so much. I had no lingering effects from this mask, aside from my face feeling sticky. That’s it. The next day…..what the ever loving heck!!!! I had not 1, not 2, but 3 tiny pimples show up on my cheek and chin! Are you kidding me? I’m a slave to my facial regimen to prevent this very thing. And masks rarely cause me to breakout (it happens, but it’s very rare). It’s not a time of the month for a zit to surprise me either so that thought went out the window. Fine. I’m all about second chances. This came in a pack of three. I’ve got a spare. Now, to give you full disclosure, for a week after I use the mask, I document my face results. While you are getting results today, they are results from self-care done WEEKS ago. So, I did another mask and skipped trying a new one. Same exact steps, like a perfectly done science experiment. Same smell, same feelings, same everything. And Monday morning? Freaking hell! Two zits. Cheek and chin again. I give up. Whoever wins the facial box, is getting my third mask from the pack.

I rate this mask so low, I’m not going to give it a number. It’s rude and I really don’t like being rude. The smell, the lack of bubble tingle, the uneven and varied bubble tingle I did feel, the sticky feel afterwards, the way the mask didn’t fit properly, the lack of “clean” and “refreshed” feeling afterwards, and the breakouts mean that this product is not the one for me. Now, lets get real ladies and gentlemen. Just because it didn’t work right for my face, DOES NOT mean it won’t work wonderful for you. We are all created different and that means our faces react different to each product. Earth Therapeutics has been giving me killer pedicures for years (and I recently picked up some Kiwi and Cucumber eye masks I can’t wait to try). I will trust them with my feet until I have long left this earth. Really, they are top notch! I just can’t use their Bubble Mask. But, I’m thinking, if your don’t have sensitive skin like mine, you may want to give this a try. It may be your new, amazing find!

GlamGlow wins this week. They can have my face. Earth Therapeutics can take care of my feet. And, in my personal opinion, those are just as important as my face.

Ipsy Glam Bag Ultimate Reveal October 2019

Ipsy Glam Bag Ultimate
October 2019

This very first Glam Bag Ultimate was AMAZING!!!! There were some great products and some newbies I loved trying so I’m definitely continuing my subscription to this subscription box. This month included these products:

  • Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette in Warm Brown – This was on my wishlist so when I had the chance to select it for my box, I jumped all over it. This palette is an immediate must have for me. It has rich, warm colors that have very little fallout and transition from day to night easily, with just a little building. I’m becoming a huge fan of Huda!
  • Kaleido Cosmetics Obsidian Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner – I really like this liner. It was easy to use and glided on flawlessly and did not smear. It lasted all evening in a very humid Florida climate and a surprise summer storm and it didn’t run at all!
  • L.O.C.K. Unicorn Glow Hydrating Primer – This primer was great. It went on smooth and made foundation application flawless. No creasing or uneven lines. I might look into a larger bottle of this product, I was so impressed.
  • Betty Boop x Ipsy Cheek to Cheek Blush Palette – Ipsy’s theme this month….I adore Betty Boop so I had to have all the things! This blush was superb. It had just the right colors for my light skin tone, without making me look overly made up.
  • Biorace L’eau Hydrating Treatment Serum – This serum was a pleasant surprise. I’m always nervous using new facial products on my skin because it’s so sensitive but this was really nice. It felt light and greaseless and my skin felt moisturized afterwards, not oily. It had no overwhelming odor and the biggest plus….it caused no breakouts!
  • F.A.R.A.H. Brushes Midnight Pro Trio – These brushes are now a staple in my makeup application. The are firm but soft and made application of my foundation, blush, and highlighter a dream!!!
  • Nanette Lepore Beautiful Times fragrance – This fragrance was gorgeous. Not heavy or overly sweet, it was subtle and citrusy…a favorite combination of mine.
  • The Saem Natural Avocado and Shea Butter Mask Sheet Set – I have to admit, I have not tried these masks yet, due to the fact I’m in the middle of a Bubble Sheet Mask Challenge but as soon as it’s done, I’m looking forward to these!
  • Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser – I’ve been dying to try this product so I did a happy dance when I saw it in my box. I incorporated it into my facial cleansing routine and there is no going back for me. It’s a keeper and I will be purchasing it again for continued use. It has helped hold back breakouts, kept my face super clean, and has not dried my face out in the least. It’s an awesome product!
  • C’est Moi Beauty Reflect Lip Gloss in Opulence – I love my lip glosses and this one is no exception. It’s very pretty and neutral and makes my lips look rosy and natural. It’s not super-sticky, either, which is a huge advantage!
  • Coloured Raine Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Glamour – Mine arrived broken so I’m waiting for a replacement.
  • Ibom Lemon Verbena Clay Mast – I have used this mask in the past and I love it. This will be great to throw in my travel bag so I can continue my facial care while traveling! This mask is both brightening and hydrating and I highly recommend it for mid-week face refreshing!
  • Trestique Good Vibes Mascara – This mascara is patiently waiting for it’s time in the spotlight, as I have not tried it yet. There is also no information on it with my enclosed pamphlet. It’s neat though, because it has a curler included at the end of the mascara tube. It’s just very strange that Ipsy included no information of this product in the box.

I had two complaints about this new subscription. The pamphlet that was included in the box broke down each product but….one item was not listed and none of the items had a value. This subscription is $50 per month. I like tangible, visible proof of the value of each product to validate the cost I’m paying. I had to look up all the product costs myself. My suggestion to them is to rectify that as soon as possible. Also, some of us subscribed to both the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus and Ultimate. Two different subscriptions but they gave me the same bag in each box. That should not be happening. You should check for dual subscriptions and make sure that different bags are provided for each. Now I have two of the same bags, which I don’t like. Otherwise, so far, I’d say this subscription is worth it.

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October Reveal

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus October 2019

This month’s Ipsy Glam Bag Plus was pretty fantastic! There were some great finds and the theme….AWESOME!!!! I love Betty Boop so their very inspired line featuring the ultimate glamour girl was spot on! Included in this box:

  • Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator (I’m going to love trying this product)
  • JOLII Cosmetics Spektra Stick in Stella (My beauty review partner was very excited to snatch this up)
  • Eyeko Black Magic Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black (excited to try this brand but why do subscription boxes keep giving me black eyeliners)
  • Lovecraft Beauty Bronzer Palette (so pretty)
  • Betty Boop x Ipsy That’s So Betty Eyeshadow Palette (This is gorgeous and I’m excited to give it a try this weekend)
  • Betty Boop x Ipsy Lipgloss in All Jazzed Up (Add On)
  • Betty Boop x Ipsy Satin Lipstick in Mauve It Baby (Add On)

Battle of the Bubbles Week 2

This week I selected e.l.f. Detoxifying Bubble Mask. I picked this up during a Target run and thought it would be a good addition to the contest because it’s very accessible for me and the price was great. You can purchase this at Target for $4 or e.l.f. Cosmetics for $4 or a 3 pack for $10. This one is definitely pocketbook friendly!!! But…is it face friendly? Check out this post to find out which mask wins this weeks battle and don’t forget to follow the steps at the end of this post for a chance to win an at-home facial gift bag which is getting fuller by the day!

e.l.f. Detoxifying Bubble Mask

The basics:

  • Ease of use: Easy
  • Price: Low to Medium
  • Packaging: Appealing
  • Smell: Low
  • Reactions: None

Breakdown:

This mask caught my eye quite accidentally during my Target run…not because it was bright and extravagant, but because it was subtle, and the colors grabbed my attention…not basic white which I normally skip right over. The mask was easy to use and the time frame of 10-15 minutes was not bad. Now, while I love GlamGlow because it’s mask is done in 3 minutes and I can fit it in anywhere, GlamGlow’s one disadvantage is that I feel like I’m rushing my own self care time. 20 minutes for a mask feels excessive for me but 10 minutes feels perfect. Score one for e.l.f.! Now, I put this on and settled in and I was floored when I started feeling the “bubble tingle” within 15 seconds!!! I had to double check my timer. And it wasn’t mild. It was a full blown bubble factory happening right on my face. I LOVED IT! I kept it on an entire 15 minutes to get the full effect and see if the bubbles and tingle lasted just as long and they did. Amazing. Upon visual inspection of the mask, it was no longer black…it was bubble white. Further proof of it’s awesomeness in my book. I removed the mask and massaged the remainder around my face using my finger tips and warm water to remove all residue. I waited about 15 minutes to check out my face and it was smooth and soft. It also felt amazing and clean!!! The next morning and going forth the entire week there were no breakouts, rashes, excessive oiliness, dryness or any other side effects. My face felt the aftereffects of this mask for days, as I do with GlamGlow. So…who won this week?

Bottom Line….I would rate this product 5 out of 5 stars. This mask is right on par with GlamGlow. From packaging to end result it scored perfect marks on my rating system, which is based on what is important to me. And while I will NEVER abandon my GlamGlow, e.l.f. has earned a spot into my weekly self-care routine with a combination of effectiveness and price. It’s $5 less per mask (more if you buy a 3 pack from the website) and since I use detoxifying masks every Sunday for self care, this mask gives me more bang for my buck.

Sorry GlamGlow, you lose this week to a gray horse. e.l.f.’s Detoxifying Bubble Mask is the winner. Actually, I’m the winner….between these two fabulous product lines, you should see my face!!!
